White Powder Or Hexagonal Crystals Zinc Oxide Purity ≥99.9% Insoluble In Water
Basic properties of zinc oxide
Zinc oxide (ZnO) is a white to light yellow powder, non-toxic and odorless, insoluble in water and organic solvents, but soluble in acids and strong bases. It has high thermal and chemical stability, with a melting point of about 1975°C and a boiling point of up to 2360°C. The crystal structure of zinc oxide is diverse, the most common of which is the hexagonal wurtzite structure, which gives zinc oxide excellent electrical, optical and piezoelectric properties.
Preparation method of zinc oxide
There are many methods for preparing zinc oxide, mainly including direct method, indirect method (wet chemical method) and physical method. The direct method usually directly obtains zinc oxide by oxidation of metallic zinc. This method is simple in process but has low purity. The indirect method is to prepare zinc oxide through chemical reactions such as precipitation, hydrolysis or thermal decomposition of zinc salt solution. This method can obtain high-purity products. The physical method mainly includes vapor deposition method and sputtering method, which are suitable for preparing thin film or coating materials.

Theory
Zinc oxide belongs to the N-type semiconductor category, exhibiting excellent luminescent properties at room temperature. It has a large energy band gap and exciton binding energy, resulting in high transparency. The principle of zinc oxide absorbing UV radiation is that electrons in the valence band can absorb energy from UV radiation and undergo transitions. The function of scattering UV radiation is related to the particle size of the material, with nanoscale particles offering significant advantages.
